Josette, and Miles Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sims Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically, start your Sim out on a huge lot; with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.
Some of my readers may know, that I like to write different things here on Steemit.
I have a Sim’s philosophy, that if I level my writing skills, eventually I will make money from my writing. For now, I'm just having a blast on Steemit!
Since I also, have a very high gaming skill, I took these two skills, and then combined them to create my Steemit blog- How to Play the Sims.
Lately, I have been writing some song lyrics for the Steemit Music League Challenge Week #8, and I found a magical singer, to add the voice I needed. Thank you @topkpop!
Knowing now, that I need to produce a video to enter the contest, I thought ahead of what I wanted it to be.
The theme for this contest is: New York Nights.
I have never been to New York City, but I did live outside of the city of Pittsburgh, so my take of any city, is the Nightlife.
This includes, dressing up, giving a shitty attitude, gathering with friends, and lots of dancing!
I will let you all in on a hint that, the lyrics I wrote for this challenge, are all about Dancing!
This challenge worked out perfectly, because I just so happen to have, some very active, young Steem ladies to help me make my video.
Josette, is still working on her baby fat left over from her recent pregnancy, but that didn’t stop her from learning to dance!
I have both the City Life Expansion which gives me the photo shots from the street level, as well as from the penthouse club above the city, and the Get Together Pack of Sims 4, that allows my Sims to learn to dance, level their dancing skills, and then hit the clubs around town.
Dancing tip- don’t cover your hips with clothes, or you can’t see the swing!
For some reason, Joy was still in the Steem household when I came back to play my Sim Girl legacy challenge; after I had thought she was removed. So, while she was in the household, I took them into the create a Sim, and gave them both a nightlife make-over.
Then I found a little basement dance floor, for them to learn how to dance.
When your Sims start their dancing skill, they are a little wobbly, but after you reached level one, they can start busting out some moves.
When the Sims travel as a group, everyone in the group, can do a choreographed group dance. The higher the dance skill level, the more advanced dance moves, the Sims can perform.
After Joy moved from the Steem household, Carolyn aged to be a young adult, and wanted to be in the video shoot too!
I dressed her up in some clubbing clothes, and sent her out to live on her own.
Both Jackie and Franny wanted to be in the video. But I decided they were too young. I told Jackie that teenagers, should not be hanging out in the clubs.
But, then Angelica called them one night, and asked if they all wanted to go out to the club.
Jackie got on the floor and she was a natural. The crowd was really digging her moves.
With a bit more persuasion, I decided that it would be good to have Jackie in the video too, since she is almost an adult….
Little did I know, Jackie Steem would become the most impressive dancer of all the Steem ladies.
By the end of the video shoot, Jackie had reached level five in her dancing skill, and was starting to pull a crowd.
With learning comes mistakes!
Jackie did hit herself in the face, a few times, while learning her new, hit moves.
But, by the end of the video, I got some very cool photos!
Because I am new at making videos, I will only be using still shots, to produce the video we will enter in the contest. In the future, I may go back to all the videos created, to make a full song video, using the Steem ladies as the dancers.
Because this video is due soon, I will not have the time to figure all that out!
The penthouse club above the city, really gave the photos the feel of living above a roaring city, such as New York City; what it would be like living there, and experiencing the city nightlife.
It took a bit of navigation, to get the Steem girls to stand where they needed to stand, or go where I wanted them to go.
But the new group features in the Sims 4 game makes this process a bit easier. They sat still for the ten seconds I needed, to take the photo.
Once I was done with the video shoot, I had a hundred different pictures of the Steem girls and their adventure in the city.
I hope you have learned a little more about how to play the Sims 4, and how much fun it is to play!
The Sims 4 game came in handy to make this contest video, and it was fun making both the song, and then playing my Sim Girl legacy challenge to get some photos.
Unfortunately, the Sims 4 game does not have to option to break dance in the streets, which is really what I think of, when I think of New York City; but I do believe this video will be very cool.
If you would like to enter this contest… You have until Saturday night, December 2nd to submit your entries, with the winners being announced Sunday, December 3rd.
