Snowflakes Are Useful Idiots #16: America's Fighting Back!

Do university "safe spaces" violate students' First Amendment rights? Will the State of Washington cut off the money taxpayers now shell out to fund an extremist left-wing college and it's spoiled, racist snowflakes? Is the country finally waking up to the dangers of cultural Marxism?

"If racism is something that is taught, then why do colleges and their professors feel the need to keep teaching it to its students?" (Miranda Dawson)

It's always good to see Americans fighting back: Two stories today dealing with the unconsitutional nature of so-called "safe spaces": Terry Schilling writes about "safe spaces", and calls them a terrible institution; holds that they actually violate students' First Amendment rights, and Sarah Taylor reports that Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager are collaborating to produce a film exposing "safe spaces" as the really dangerous idea they are.

Wakke, wakee, snowflakes - Americans are fighting back - in Washington State, would you believe, fed-up legislators hope to privatize Evergreen State College and revoke $24 Million in state funding - they've apparently had enough of Evergreen's radical little fascists. Will Olympia's Democrats support their effort?

  • And when you think wackademia couldn’t get any crazier, it obliges. Now colleges offer classes to help students reduce their white privilege.
Actually, that class began at enrollment for white kids. The colleges have already indoctrinated white parents, who gladly write checks to send their young adults to a high-priced insane asylum. The colleges oblige by returning young adults home as toddlers.

  • Huber, Dave: Lawyer ‘outraged’ at possible discipline for Northwestern U. students who disrupted prof’s class
  • The lawyer representing the student protesters who disrupted a class at Northwestern — which featured a speaker from Immigration and Customs Enforcement — says his firm was “outraged” school officials may take disciplinary action them.
The activists, representing groups ranging from MEChA de Northwestern, Black Lives Matter NU, the Immigrant Justice Project, and the NU Queer Trans Intersex People of Color, crashed Professor Beth Redbird’s sociology class to show their displeasure at the presence of the ICE representative.

  • Schilling, Terry: “Safe Spaces” Should Have No Place on College Campuses
  • Universities ought to be places where students are constantly challenged to pursue truth through vigorous debate and intellectual inquiry. In the name of protecting some students from having to encounter opposing viewpoints, safe spaces silence others and thereby hinder the intellectual growth of the university as a whole.
In these safe spaces, only students who share the same ideologies as those who designated the space as “safe” are permitted to speak. Any other opinions which may offend those protected students is forbidden. This is a direct violation of the other students’ First Amendment freedom of speech.
  • Taylor, Sarah: Snowflakes under attack: Conservative celebrity’s pitch for ‘No Safe Spaces,’ the movie
  • Conservative comedian and talk show host Adam Carolla has teamed up with conservative radio show host and author Dennis Prager to create a film documenting the dwindling right to free speech on college campuses.
The film is titled “No Safe Spaces,” and according to Carolla, is intended to combat of the dying notion of free speech and return students’ rights to exercise their 1st Amendment rights.

  • Van Voorhis, Peter: Lawmakers propose defunding Evergreen State amid protests
  • State lawmakers in Washington are fed up with the antics of Evergreen State College, and plan to introduce legislation Thursday to privatize the left-leaning institution.
Led by Republican State Rep. Matt Manweller, the legislators are considering revoking $24 million in state funding, but vow that financial aid will remain available to students.
