Chapter XXV Overgrown grass

Gout

After lunch at the beach restaurant on the way back, they stopped at the edge of a cliff from which a panoramic view was seen with the city in the background. On one side the clouds in formation heralded a tropical storm like the ones that often hit the island, once they took photos of the beautiful natural surroundings, they quickly boarded the limo to continue their journey.

They left Mindy at the hotel, as she got off, the rain with thick drops hitting the pavement, as she did not have to cover her head, her hair got wet, so at the reception, the manager when seeing her in that way said :

"Miss, the weather report, in the morning indicated that the rain was going to appear, here you always have to consider the forecasts, I also wanted to ask you

How did the judge finally sentence? "

Mindy, a little freed from what happened, replied:

"Fortunately, today the saying was fulfilled, we had the gout that overflowed the pond.

I won the lawsuit! "

That said, he handed over the keys of her room.

At the moment of opening the door of the room in her bag, the cell phone announced a call, from her half sister Angeline, immediately in a cheerful tone, she said to her:

"We have won, the damn thief has been imprisoned, we are going to recover what our father left us, only today we have a new novelty since our father Thomas has a son who also has the right"

Angeline surprised:

"This is a real surprise, my father never told me anything about it. What is going to be done?"

(Mindy) "We have to undergo genetic tests to see if we are brothers, you should also do it"

(Angeline): "Well and when would it be?"

(Mindy): "One of the investors of the bank who is interested in clarifying everything will inform me regarding who is doing the tests"

Then they continued talking about everything that had happened at the trial and the details of how they would finally recover Thomas's legacy. After a while they said goodbye affectionately.

After Mindy was dropped off at her hotel, Peter her lawyer and John the bank's investor continued to the city center because Peter had to search for his car. Taking advantage of the moment, Peter protested the behavior of the bank, since his seriousness was compromised. So John says to him:

"Peter, certainly the credibility of us has suffered a major decline, so I am interested in compensating Mindy and her brothers for their assets"

(John): "I just hope this is done as soon as possible, otherwise I will act"

Dark side

Angeline after finishing talking to her sister Mindy immediately called her friend Andrew:

"Andrew, my sister won the trial, everything is already being clarified, but my father continues to give us surprises, now it turns out that we have a brother and that we must share what we have inherited with him"

Andrew, as he already knew that Thomas had another son since having read the personal diary, he had it reflected there, although out of respect for them, he had not told them anything, so he was not surprised by it.

Angeline realizing that he showed no surprise said:

"Andrew, I think you men always have a dark side. What will yours be?"

Laughing, he told her not to be mortified that these are all normal things, from the life of a sailor.

Then they continued talking about their jobs and Andrew's performance in his new position.

After finishing talking with Andrew, Angeline remained thoughtful about everything that happened, now that her sister had advanced the efforts to recover their inheritance, she made the decision at that moment to start being more active, so she decided that she would place her resignation as nursing home assistant and will travel to help her sister in whatever is necessary.

Red roses

The day began for Angeline with her determination to place her resignation, it only gave her some sadness to do so, since she had established a good friendship with Charles who had been one of her father's friends and companion. Upon arriving at work, he found several of them crying and sad, she went first to the living room of the nursing home to greet her friend, when she entered, her heart skipped beat, the chair where always sat Charles was empty, with a bouquet of red roses. So without being told, she realized that he had died, without being able to express her pain well, she went to the office of the nursing home manager to deliver her letter of resignation.

When he saw her arrive, after greeting her, he received the letter, he read it with great care, and finally, without further ado, he was left to thank her, for the services she provided there.

Angeline, now released from that work commitment, went to the travel agency to buy the tickets.

There an employee after locating the flight, knowing that the destination was the now famous "fantasy" island, told her:

"Now the demand for the purchase of tickets to go to the island of" fantasy "has increased, all after Mindy won the lawsuit to claim her inheritance"

Angeline, remain silent, since she did not want that gossip, that she was Mindy's sister. Hurrying out of there now she headed to the hotel.

His friend Andrew was at the reception, in a very bad mood since the mayor had fired him, thanks to which it was no longer justified that he stayed longer in that city. Angeline after listening patiently finally said:

"Andrew, since you are not going to continue in that work. Now you could accompany me to the island where Mindy is, since you are an expert in ancient documents, we are going to need your help"

Without thinking twice, he agreed to accompany her, so she, taking her cell phone, immediately called the travel agency to buy tickets for him.

Both now went up to their rooms to prepare their luggage since at midnight the plane would leave for the island where they would meet with Mindy.

The plane left at the scheduled time, the flight having an estimated flight time of six hours and with the change of time zone they would arrive at the destination airport at seven in the morning. The plane, having to cross the ocean, crossed the storm zones, the passengers began to worry, the speaker with the captain's voice restored their calm as it told them that they were only passing through a storm area. The hostess at that time offered the passengers a copy of the local island´ newspaper, Angeline accepted a copy, on the first page the photo of her sister Mindy was highlighted, with big headlines highlighting her victory in the trial. She turn the page and there appear other photos of his sister and the accused. The only detail that she did not like is that now they were both being observed by reporters, since they could not hide their movements. Commenting on it to Andrew, he said not to worry that in a couple of days no one would remember the famous case of the bank robber.

When she finished listening to him, they turned off the main lights of the plane, leaving the interior in darkness, so that both fell asleep. Before landing, an alarm went off, turning on the interior lights of the passenger cabin, putting on their seat belts, they prepared for landing, arriving on time. After descending and passing the immigration police control, in the central hall of the airport a man had a sign indicating their names. The man kindly received them, Angeline just as it had happened to Mindy upon hearing her tone of voice reminded her father, when he asked her name, he quickly said "My name is Thomas", she was frozen with fright, she not expected to meet him so violently, taking a deep breath she said:

"Well, you're my secret brother, Mindy already told me about you"

Unable to believe the turn of events, he automatically shook her hand to confirm it, Andrew, who witnessed everything, laughed and told them that God is always in control, that's why they were there.

Thomas, taking a wheelbarrow, put their luggage so they headed for the agency taxi in which he would take them to the hotel. Upon arriving there, already at the reception with the three of them, Mindy appeared at that moment, the man at the reception when he saw Mindy asked for an autograph since he would take it to his wife who did not believe that she was staying at his hotel . Everyone laughed at its occurrence. Andrew, who until then remained silent, asked them to stand together for to take a photo that certified the meeting of the three brothers. The receptionist realizing that a cat had been locked up there, quickly called the local newspaper reporter who appeared almost immediately. He began to take photos of them and began to question them about the reason for Andrew and Angeline's visit. Mindy, quite uncomfortable due to the situation, considered that they should change hotels quickly since their safety was no longer guaranteed there. Thomas, coinciding with her, told him that he would take care of getting the rent of a house.
Thomas, because he worked in the travel agency the next day, located the house in which they would stay from that day on, having several rooms with all the necessary services, it offered them the necessary comfort and security that they required.

When they arrived at the house, everyone was surprised at its spaciousness and how modern it was, Andrew without hesitation told them:

"You must get used to your new life as a millionaire, soon you will see that your hardships are over"

Mindy, reflecting on her words, thought that now they must hurry the efforts to recover everything, since time played against them.

Angeline, happy for the warmth of the house, went to the garden where an overgrown grass reminded her of her childhood days at her father's side. Feeling all this, she felt sure that the presence of her famous sailor father was always at her side taking care of her.
