We then went into Bergen. We saw the port and did a little shopping for a little bit before driving to our Airbnb.

Ferries

We took a couple of ferries on our way from Bergen to Stavanger,

Day 2

"Alone in the Wood"

Our first Airbnb was in a cute house in the country, that felt like our grandma's house and it had rooms for everyone!

"Alone In The Wood"

Driving to Stavanger

On our drive we went over bridges, through tunnels, on ferries and stopped at beautiful places to take pictures.

Day 3

Pulpit Rock

One thing that Scott really wanted to do is hike Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen. It was a really intense hike for me and Jodi since we were sick. It was worth it to see the cliff and the fjord from the top!

After hiking Pulpit Rock we drove through the countryside to our next Airbnb

We stopped at this restaurant for dinner. It was a great place! We had our own room with a great view and paid a lot for service out in the country.

Day 4

Sekse Fruit Farm

We had a great Airbnb on a fruit farm in Sekse which is right on a fjord so we had the best views! The apples on the farm were amazing!

Sekse Fruit Farm Airbnb

Renting a car was the best! We could stop whenever we wanted and we stopped a lot. Route 7 from Sekse to Hagafoss is gorgeous!

I even worked at Channeling my inner Ansel Adams in Norway

Voringfossen

What a great place. The waterfalls were stunning and the fall colors made it even more beautiful.

Wednesday Walk: Voringfossen

Hardangervidda

As we drove to Hagafoss we got higher and higher and made it to the Hardangervidda or Hardanger Plateau, where the average elevation is 3,600 feet (1,100 metres).

Day 5

Foggy Fjord Cruise

We woke up to a rainy day and were not sure how our fjord cruise was going to turn out. The rain was light and the fog added some great interest to the mountains!

View from the Stalheim Hotel

After the awesome cruise we went to the Stalheim Hotel to see the view of the valley from the back of the hotel. It is quite the tourist attraction and the even have hours posted for the tourists to see the view.

There were a lot of Tunnels, Teslas, round abouts and sheep in Norway!

Train ride from Bergen to Oslo

One of the things that I was most excited about was taking a train ride in Norway. We planned our trip so that we could take the train across from Bergen to Oslo, which is 7 hours.

Day 6

Oslo, Norway

Oslo was a great city. there is so much to do and see. We stayed at an Airbnb on an island, went to church at a 17th century cathedral, took a scooter ride and explored Frogner Park before going to the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History and then dinner at Smalhans.

Mass at 17th Century Cathedral

We took the bus from our Airbnb to the city center. As we were wandering around we found a 17th century cathedral and it was having mass in about 15 minutes. I am so glad we went. It was very neat to worship God with the people in Norway, even if I didn't understand the language and the mass was all new to me too!

Scooter ride through Oslo

@jarvie and I had a great time renting scooters for about an hour and riding through Olso.

Frogner Park

This sis a very big-80 acre park (320,000 m2)- with 212 sculptures by Gostav Vigeland. We saw the Monolith and Monolith plateau, the Bridge and the fountain all designed by Gostav Vigeland. They are impressive bronze and stone statues of people full of emotion!

The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History

After Frogner Park we went to to the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History. This is a very cool open air museum that has buildings from the 12th century to the present that you can see up close.

Gol Stave Church

The highlight of the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History is the Gol Stave Church which was built in 1212 (811 years ago) in Gol and moved to Oslo in 1884.

Smalhans Restaurant

We ended the day and the trip at Smalhans a Michelin star Restaurant in downtown Oslo. We had 8 courses of traditional Norwegian food. My favorite as the Sami bread!

Restaurant Review: Smalhans

Here is a post of the Textures in Norway and our final selfie together. What a great trip with such wonderful friends to travel with. Norway has been on my list of place to go for so many years! It was amazing and exceed my dreams.
