As the good things always happen today I am participating in the FreeWriteHouse writing challenge "Maynia", which will be developing during the month of May.

Synopsis

In this story the adventures that Thomas had as a sailor are narrated, when he was older he was imprisoned on an island leaving behind in the city where he lived his daughter Mindy and his wife.

On the island where he had arrived with his boat, there was a discussion in the pub where he was sharing with his friends, a fight arose, so one of those present died and he was accused of it. He was then imprisoned, being subjected to a trial of which finally without relevant evidence he was sentenced to serve a sentence on probation, he was helped by Mary who invited him to his home for not having money to pay for his accommodation. Mary was have a daughter named Angeline who was adopted by Thomas who after a romance stayed permanently with her mother.

When Mary died, Thomas decided to return to the city where he found that his wife had passed away and that his daughter Mindy, of legal age, opened the doors of his house, lodging him there until he died.

He had left the charge to Angeline that in case he died she would do everything possible to travel to the city where her sister lived, which she did not know. When he arrived in the city and called his sister, he informed him of their situation that they were both sisters and that they had to meet to elucidate the legacy of their father. In the chapters that follow, the story is unraveled.

Chapter IXX Insulting

Night gown

The deep night in the villa brought Mindy unfamiliar sounds that scared her, taking her to uncontrollable levels of anguish, her sister Angeline, when she heard her screams, ran up to see what was happening, when she opened the door to her room she was paralyzed staring at the ceiling in her inexplicably wet night gown. Seeing that scene without hesitation, she approached her taking one of her arms asking her to sit on the bed.

Deep asleep, Andrew had not heard anything, so the episode was kept secret since it was not convenient for them in those crucial moments of the inheritance claim that a doctor go to certify his state of insanity. Angeline was already finding it difficult to help her sister alleviate her state of paranoia that was causing her stress and uncertainty due to the false promise of recovering the goods her father had left them, she had to be careful that her sister took the treatment antidepressant that freed her from her childhood trauma.

Thomas upon arriving at his house was suddenly empty, the meeting with his blood sisters had clouded what he thought until now represented the security of living on the island without having to see the world in his reality since his work, of showing a world of fantasy to tourists in which people's dreams depend only on money and not on the promises of glorious pasts of which he now had a vivid example that his father in his crazy sailing through the sea left three children watered in different ports. To alleviate his bewilderment, he went to the pantry and from there took a bottle of whiskey, served it in a glass with ice, taking it slowly, trying to organize the ideas, since now it was very important for him to maintain equanimity and firmness because the future that He was still uncertain if it could change the tranquility that until now as a simple and humble person he had achieved.

Devastated

Every morning John entered the bank greeting everyone with affection, only now after having gone through the grievance of being allegedly singled out in a corruption case, his mood changed so much that that day he continued to walk to his office without looking at no one's face. None of his collaborators expected the man to return so devastated, they could not believe that a simple administrative inquiry disturbed him in that way, insulting his assistant alerted everyone else since they knew that the next ones could be them. His claims were aimed at drawing attention to the need to accelerate efforts to allocate the necessary resources to release the assets held in the bank of the deceased Thomas.

At the bank the atmosphere becoming dense they only thought that they would bankrupt them since when they demanded that their wages be increased the argument they always heard from John's lips is that the bank's financial situation was delicate and was not I could take new risks. There one of the employees who had recently been hired with advanced marketing studies John had assigned him the task of finding a friendly solution for everyone, investors, heirs and employees that would allow them to return to calm waters away from the hurricane in which this trip of the sailor Thomas had brought them.

The police called Peter to communicate the results of the investigation that demonstrated John's alleged innocence of the acts of corruption that occurred in the financial institution in which Thomas had his investments. The investigator assured him that the man's disposition was to reach a friendly agreement between the parties and not to disappoint the wishes of the deceased Thomas. Listening carefully to what was said, Peter told the investigator that he would continue to closely observe John's actions since his commitment to Mindy remained in force.

Pressing

Andrew as a property appraiser with knowledge of graphology and studies of ancient documents had made himself available to Peter to help him unravel the tangle of documents relating to the lawsuit of Thomas' heirs. That morning he accompanied Peter to the bank, there John was trying to organize a stack of papers, his assistant who was a little confused greeted them with disdain.

Peter realizing that they were not well received, said to them:

"Now they have no other choice but to provide us with all the information we require, they can no longer continue delaying the transfer of property to Thomas' heirs.

Here, Andrew, who is an expert appraiser, is willing to collaborate with you to certify the real price of the goods "

John, feeling alluded to, replied:

"The bank has already evaluated the assets, but a second opinion is always convenient, so we agree with your help"

Peter, satisfied with the answer below, asked them to start working immediately, as time is pressing. Despite the complexity of the information, in a few hours they organized it ready to offer it for auction immediately.

Nightmare

One of the tourist attractions of the island was the offer of brand clothing stores since most of the visitors enjoy a high purchasing power. Despite the fact that even Mindy and Angeline did not enjoy their inherited money, being alone since Andrew was working with Peter, they asked for a taxi and went to the main Shopping Center.

When they got there, they were dazzled by the spaciousness of the multi-storey building in which the brand stores showed in their showcases the latest fashion of the year. Angeline, seeing so much luxury with joy said to her sister:

"Today at least we are taking revenge for the bad times we have experienced so far"

Mindy, in turn already calmer commented:

"I think we are living in a dream that we hope will not turn into a nightmare"

Angeline knowing the mental state of her sister, only said to her: "You must relax and let everything flow, you will see that things are resolved"

While in the Shopping Center, a voice mentions the name of Mindy, she turns to see who was calling her, there sitting on one of the benches in the main hallway an old woman waved her arms attracting their attention.

They went to see what he wanted, she introduced herself and told them:

"Mindy I am your aunt, your father sent me a photo of you, when you walked in front of me I recognized you, that's why I called"

Mindy and Angeline, surprised that their father had a sister on that island, were interested in knowing more about her, Angeline without hesitation told her:

"Well, I'm also Thomas's daughter, did she ever tell you about me?"

The old woman, laughing, said to her: "Of course, he told me about you, although he never sent me a photo of you"

Mindy, doubting the old woman's good faith, said:

"Still you don't convince me that you are my father's sister, could you have heard my name before, will you have anything to prove it?"

The old woman rising from the bank asked them to accompany her to her house, since she had the evidence there. The girls innocently agreed to accompany her as the woman began to inspire confidence in them.

They walked several streets, until they reached a two-story house with a garden, the old woman then, after opening the entrance door, entered behind it, both were frozen, there a large painting with the figure of a sailor intimidated with his look, seeing it in more detail they realized that there in front of them the man in the painting was his father.

The old woman, although they were silent, did not pay attention and asked them to go to the living room.

There a photo in which Mindy appeared accompanied by her father occupied a preferential place. Given these evidences to both they had no choice but to accept the woman as their aunt, sitting there they began to ask the old woman to tell them more information regarding her father and why he never spoke about her.

The old woman, knowing that she had captured their attention, began to narrate the life that Thomas led on that island which saw him born, told them that he returned every so often to the island where he shared his days with his woman. They, astonished to hear from the lips of another person who witnessed the adventures of their father, did not give much credit to her words, however, as the doubt was sown in them, they let the woman finish their story.

Thus, about three hours passed in which the woman slowly confessed the origin of the funds deposited in the bank, which still remained there waiting for the heirs to claim them.

After finishing listening to all the anecdotes and stories of the woman, they decided that they would return to the villa since they had to rest to recover their energy for the busy day that was waiting for them safely the next day. Giving her a loving kiss on the face they promised to return.
