Parasite: The Weekend Freewrite- 9/22/2018

Deep green sparks fell in the afternoon light, but Hank found himself more concerned with the man who no longer needed crutches. He took a couple steps back, careful to avoid being tripped up by the curb.

The man shook his body as if being struck by lightning. He began taking steps in Hank's direction.

Hank felt his heart slamming against his chest. He turns around to run. The pole he hits knocks him to the ground.

Hank holds his face in his hands. His eyes tear up, making it hard for him to see. He then feels the hand of the man grab his shoulder and the pull that brings him to his feet.

"Are you alright?" he askes.

"You are walking," Hank blubbers out. "You are walking. You were never able to walk before that thing crawled in you and now you are walking."

"Imagine yourself over the top of your home. This can be accomplished if you want." The man sticks his hand out for Hank to shake.

The hand, looking like it had aged ten years in five minutes, had a strange smell to it. The invasive smell traveled up Hank's nose before his nose clogged up with more blood.

Hank backs away. "I'd rather not." He takes a couple steps back. The man keeps pace with him.

"I can make all of your dreams come true. Think about Stacy and her wants."

Stacy wanted to move out of the house ever since we moved in. She said the way the light refracted into her eyes was like spending winters on the artic planes, which caused severe headaches and blindness after a short time.

"I think it best I forget this happened," Hank hesitantly said.

"Tisk, tisk, You are going to have to be more cooperative."

When I called to check in with him a couple of months ago, he told me he was going to be able to walk again because he had drained the life from a praying mantis. He told me of the worm that came out of its abdomen.

He came to the conclusion that it could make him walk again. He told me the worm told him so. And here he was, walking, cajoling me into joining it, him, whatever it had turned him into.

"I can hear your mind racing with thoughts. I would not pick up that lead pipe if you know what is good for you. I have fairly quick reflexes. Care to find out?" His face lowers but his eyes turn up, the whiteness of the eye erased and turned a bright yellow.

Hank contemplated his choices. Become one of it or get the fuck out. He chose the later when his hand tightly grabbed the pipe and struck the man in the head with it.
