I'm going to speak about the freedom of "free speech."
On one hand, everyone should have the right to say whatever they want at any given moment. We have the U.S. Constitution that tells us so.
We have those who will protect the rights of "free speech" at any cost to themselves or the general public. However, is all speech freeing?
Let's think about that for a moment, shall we?
Take the propaganda Hitler and his band of thugs (mainly Joseph Goebbels, a propagandist writer) put out for public consumption. Because of the lack of critical thinking skills the public had, due to the horrible caste system of the Prussian education system, the public soaked up what was being fed to them. The public thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. "Let's follow that guy," the public said with their actions. "He can talk some great rhetoric."
Hilter was able to lead an entire nation into war because of his freedom to speak about whatever he god damn well pleased in front of whoever would lend him their listening ear. His followers ate that shit up and almost took over the world because of Hilter's right to freedom of speech. But, you and I in hindsight (possibly then also) can see how destructive his and his follower's actions were and continue to be.
Here in America - I'm sure other places as well -, there are people who still follow the hate speech put out at that time. Hate speech should also be protected under free speech laws, right? But, is that speech freeing?
If I come over to your place or we hang out somewhere and I begin calling you a bunch of derogatory names, throwing out put-down after put-down, and generally treat you like shit with the language I use, which falls under my constitutionally protected rights to free speech, is this speech freeing you or causing you to shut down? Do you have the mental capability to take my assault of words with a grain of salt or would you fold under the enormous pressure my highly negative language has the capability to create within your mind? Really... How free would you feel?
Sure you can lash out at me and tell me to stop (using your free speech), but you are a protector of "free speech." So, I am allowed to verbally assault you, and there ain't nothing you can do about it because you have the belief that all people should be able to speak their mind. It is in the constitution after all.
Do you yet see where I am going with this?
What does it mean to protect "free speech?"
There are many studies that show the vibration words have. Negative words based in hate have low frequencies. Positive words based in love have high frequencies.
If you are a protector of "free speech" then you must realize what speech is freeing and what speech is binding. The "free speech" we constitutionally protected can liberate us from chains of bondage or drag us down into the very abyss of hell. Would you not agree?
Everyone should have the right to say whatever is on their mind. However, there is a time and place for the speech that is not freeing. Like in a psychologists/psychotherapists office; like on a piece of paper that no one will see but you because, you'll burn that hateful speech when you have rid yourself of that negativity; like anywhere else that isn't for mass consumption.
What should not happen is one getting up in front of a crowd to deliver a speech filled with evil speech to the uncritically thinking masses. This is a time where we as people who love "free speech" should say, "Your speech is not freeing; therefore, you have no given rights to speak your evil speech in front of the masses. Take that shit to people who have the critical thinking skills to defend themselves against your evil speech. Let the ones who are trained to deal with your mess handle the situation in a constructive manner."
Basically, not all speech is freeing and not all speakers should be allowed to express their constitutional right of free speech in front of minds that will soak that shit up without a moment of thinking about how just fucking crazy and evil the words spewed from your mouth are.
If you are a protector of free speech, then you must realize not ALL speech is freeing. To be a protector of Free Speech, we must guard ourselves and others again the evil speech that binds us and puts us in chains.
